Basic electronic components
“This article includes the brief summery of the basic electronic components.”
BASIC ELECTRONIC COMPONENT
An electronic component is a basic electronic element usually packaged in a discrete form with two or more connecting leads . Components are intended to be connected together, usually by soldering to a printed circuit board , to create an electronic circuit with a particular function for example an amplifier, radio receiver or oscillator).
ACTIVE COMPONENTS
The components which produce the energy in the form of
current or voltage are called as active components.
example: transistors etc.
PASSIVE COMPONENTS
The components which stores the energy in the form of
current or voltage are called as passive components.
example: inductors, resistors, capacitors etc.
TRANSISTOR
A Transistor can be thought of as a device that is active in only One Direction. It is a semiconductor device commonly used to amplify or switch electronic signals. There are three parts of transistors base, emitter and collector.
Function of Transistor
Transistors amplify current, for example they can be used to amplify the small output current from a logic IC so that it can operate a lamp, relay or other high current device. In many circuits a resistor is used to convert the changing current to a changing voltage, so the transistor is being used to amplify voltage
INDUCTOR
An inductor is a passive electronic component that stores energy in the form of a magnetic field. Or One that inducts, especially a device that functions by or introduces inductance into a circuit.
RESISTOR
A device used in electrical current conduction to control the direction of the current flowing to a circuit by applying resistance. Resistors may be fixed or variable, both controlling the flow of current differently.
CONDUCTOR
A substance or object that allows electricity to flow through it with low resistance. A macroscale example is a copper wire while certain kinds of nanotubes are molecular conductors.
