Fall Into a Kansas City Festival this September
Looking for an excuse to eat, drink, and be merry? Kansas City is hosting their 79th Annual Plaza Art Fair from September 24-26 this fall. The festival features breathtaking artwork, culinary creations, and live music.
The Country Club Plaza will be transformed into a beautiful outdoor gallery to display art from across the world. This Kansas City festival also has 3 stages featuring the best local and regional artists who will perform throughout the event.
Feel free to bring the kids to this Kansas City Festival; they can channel their boundless energy into creativity at the Kids Art Workshop. The workshop features the Wonderscope Childrens Museum, with interactive art and some great takeaway projects to discover their inner artiste!
Don’t forget to check out any of the 30 Plaza restaurants and their fabulous and delicious displays of “culinary art”.
Festivals in Kansas City Light Up the Town
Experience WaterFire Kansas City on Saturday, September 18th along Brush Creek. This concept was originally created in Providence, Rhode Island by Barnaby Evans in 1994 and has become more elaborate each year. This is the 3rd year the installation will take place in this location and is unlike any other festivals in Kansas City.
The display begins with a series of boats travelling through the darkness along Brush Creek. Torches in hand, the firetenders ignite the braziers along the creek and bring more than 55 floating bonfires to life.
Boats continually feed the braziers with new wood to keep the living fire sculpture in its original form. The powerful visual of flickering firelight, along with the fragrant aroma of wood smoke, and enchanting music all come together to create a multisensory experience like no other.
The Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza is a prime location for both the Plaza Art Fair and WaterFire 2010 and many other festivals in Kansas City, no driving required!
