Make your Employees More Efficient
“You should take resort to psychometric testing to get the best employees for the company. Remember, a bad employee leaves a bad impression on other employees as well.”
There is a famous adage; Prevention is better than cure. The same thing applies to your employees also. I mean to say that the first thing that you need to keep in mind is that you should employ only those persons for various roles in your company that are the best fit for them.
Any kind of lackadaisical attitude, favoritism, prejudice etc. won’t take you on the right path. An employee who loves the work given to him is an asset for the company and seldom needs any kind of reprimand or stimulation as far as his work is concerned.
You should take resort to psychometric testing to get the best employees for the company. Remember, a bad employee leaves a bad impression on other employees as well and this kind of negative feeling may spread like wild fire in your company, especially if it involves a great amount of teamwork.
After this initial step, you shouldn’t feel complacent or rest assured. Human nature is unpredictable and irrational too, at times. So, you should always try to make your employees belong to the company. Tell them about the mission of your company, make them understand the importance of their task, give them cordial and friendly atmosphere and you can create wonders with your employees.
Get in touch with every employee at a personal level. If this is not possible due to large number of employees, meet them in groups. Have informal meetings with them and listen to their grievances and problems. Try your level best to sort out those things that are genuine and the need of the hour.
Always have respect for the individual in your mind. This is a single factor that can contribute a lot to your healthy relationship with your employees. Once an employee is convinced that you are there for him, he will spare no effort to please you. This situation is an excellent one for any business, big or small.
Proper incentives, perks and the stick and carrot policy are also practical methods that go a long way in improving the quality and efficiency of your employees. Never ever indulge in punishment that is more than required. This can have a negative effect as it diminishes the chances that an employee would repent and try to improve himself.
