Microsoft Re-launches Flexible Benefits in Conjunction with Thomsons Online Benefits
“Microsoft UK has re-launched flexible benefits in conjunction with Thomsons Online Benefits using their Darwin™ platform.
”
Microsoft’s “Flexi” scheme which was initially introduced in 2003, was re-launched using new technology and communication in order to improve the employee experience, reduce administration for the HR team, and improve the automation of data to benefit providers on activities such as cars, pension and communication.
Microsoft UK is proud to be one of the world’s leading employers, and regularly win awards for being one of the best places to work. Their reward package is market leading, offering a complete range of benefit options which employees can shape to compliment their lifestyle and family.
Theresa McHenry, HR Director at Microsoft UK commented: “We have run
flexible benefits for nearly a decade and felt it was time to look for a new supplier to help us improve our communication to employees and to ensure that we had the best technology available in today’s market. We appointed Thomsons Online Benefits as we were impressed with the flexibility and functionality of their Darwin™ platform in terms of the improved employee experience we could offer and, the automation of data and richness of reporting that it supported. In addition it was clear that they had unrivalled experience in delivering reward programmes in the technology sector”.
“We know that people are our company’s most valuable asset, and that they have different backgrounds, interests, lives, and commitments. We understand that to get the best out of people, and help them reach their full potential, we must continue to offer a market-leading flexible reward package.”
Microsoft UK ensure that each employee and their family is provided with a good level of security by providing a comprehensive range of core benefits including life assurance, income protection, private medical insurance, personal accident insurance, holiday and group personal pension plan. All employees are then allocated a “flexi fund” and freedom to choose their own benefits from a wide range designed to make their life easier and to save them money.
The additional benefits are grouped under “Caring for you” which includes a range of health and wellbeing benefits, “Everyday” which covers childcare and a concierge service, “Health and Leisure” which covers onsite and offsite fitness and leisure facilities, “Travel” which covers travel insurance and bicycle benefit, and “Retail Savings”.
Theresa McHenry continues: “We are absolutely delighted with the launch of our revised “Flexi” scheme in particular with the improvements in reward communication we have been able to offer our employees. As an HR team the increased automation Darwin™ offers has meant our administration has reduced and we are benefitting from the rich data we can now gather on how our reward scheme is performing. We look forward to working with Thomsons Online Benefits to developing “Flexi” further in the future to ensure it remains a world-class reward scheme”.
