Unemployment is a state of worklessness for a men or woman who is fit and willing to work.
TYPES:
I. Voluntary Unemployment:
In this type ,a person doesn’t work on the prescribed wages and is out of job by his own desire. Either he doesn’t want to work at all or wants higher wages.
II. In Voluntary Unemployment :
In this type, although he is capable of earning his wages and is also anxious to earn them, he is separated from remunerative work and devoid of wages.
CAUSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT:
a) Failure of Industries:
Various factors like dispute amongst the partners, the business may give huge loss and has to close down. This is the one of the cause of failure of industries and is the major cause of unemployment.
b) Deterioration in Industry and business :
Factors responsible for deterioration in the Industry and business are the inefficiency of the employers, keen competitions less profit etc.
There is enormous increase in the population. Every year India adds to their afresh. More than this every year about 5 million people become eligible for securing jobs. Economic depression or sick industries are often close down compelling their employees to become unemployed. Technological advancement contributes to economic development. The computerization and automation has led to technological unemployment
COMPARISON FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BETWEEN DIFFERENT SECTORS:
a) Unemployment among the educated is much higher than the overall unemployment.
b) Agricultural sector has greater Unemployment than in Industrial and other major sector.
c) Unemployment rates for woman are higher than those for men.
d) Percentage of Unemployment in urban areas is much higher than in rural areas.
