Why Are People Branding The Guru or Someone Else?
“In this article internet marketing professional Phil Miranda details the importance of self branding, co-branding, and not branding someone else, or the so called guru when marketing a program, or system.”
As an experienced marketer with over 20 years of marketing experience online and off combined Phil Miranda caught on quickly as to the importance of self branding, and co-branding a program, product, system, or offer online, and off.
"Think about this..." states Phil, everyone is marketing a product, program or system daily without even noticing the fact that we are all branding someone else's brand when we do life's daily things such as brush our teeth, get dressed, and drive our vehicles.
Unless we produce every product that we consume, we're all branding and co-branding someone else's creations.
The heart of this matter is not to stop branding something that we use in our daily lives, but to stop branding an online program, system, mentor, guru, leader, etc;
The biggest mistake I see newbie marketers make is to immediately brand a business opportunity, sponsor, or system rather than learning how to brand themselves. Now some of you, especially those new to marketing online who are reading this article may be asking the question... "How do I brand myself, when I've got nothing to offer?" The answer is simple... Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone has some type of life experience (family,work related,sports,religious,politics,business,etc.) I hope now you get the point.
Back in the summer of 2008 when I was looking to get involved within a particular home based activity, I chose to brand myself by making videos on book recommendations that focused on attaining the proper mindset in life, and the results were astounding to say the least. Due to a few of those videos I was able and still am able to generate thousands of dollars consistently by branding myself in that field of business.
Branding yourself is essential because when it's all said and done people are seeking to join people, not merely join a program, or system, they want to develop a relationship with the person that they are joining when they feel that sense of comfort, and leadership qualities they will be more than ready to join you in your business as partners and friends.
Make sure that when you get started branding yourself, you come across as yourself... not someone else since people can spot a phony from afar. Also, you're not going to please everyone, so get that out of your head if that's what you're thinking. Some people may like you and others may not, and hey... That's fine do not take it personal, remember you've done the same thing when seeking an opportunity in one fashion or another.
Another major mistake that aspiring online business opportunity seekers make is thinking that they need a flashy looking website that yells HYPE! My advice is to keep simple and non glitzy. Make sure that your site or blog is one filled with content, such as relevant videos, articles, and press releases pertaining to your niche business opportunity of your choice.
Contrary to what the "mainstream" would want you to believe free marketing does work, and it works well, only when applied effectively, and consistently. Now paid marketing works that much more effectively in certain platforms, but if you're on a tight budget or have no marketing budget, then free, effective marketing strategies and resources are available by the bulk load online, and I'm not talking about link farms of traffic exchanges... I'm talking about getting yourself branded all over the internet for free... The right way of course!
